Summer Vacation Has Begun!

Yesterday was my last official day of the school year. Most of the day was spent moving all my things from one room to another. It was a bigger job than I thought, but I did get most of it moved. Kim even came to help some and brought me lunch which made my principal jealous. The bigger things like my desk and a couch (for the students) will be moved later by our custodians. I have to go to workshop at the school on Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe I'll do some unpacking after then.

Last night, we went to watch a ball game. Landon Wylie, who goes to our church and was a student of mine last year, was playing at our local ballpark. Levi had a blast watching the game. He sat in his stroller and soaked it all in. The umpire came by a couple of times to visit with him and asked him if he was making good calls (which he wasn't). After the game was over, the ump gave him the game ball! Levi was so proud of that ball.

My Saturday started at 1:40 p.m. That's when I woke up. No kidding. I went to bed about 11:00 p.m. and woke up nearly 15 hours later. I haven't done that since my OC days. Needless to say, I'm very rested.

We went to Kim's parents house to go swimming this afternoon. Now this is the official start of the summer. Everyone enjoyed swimming, especially Levi who was a regular little tadpole. He enjoyed it when Kim and I would count "1, 2, 3" and toss him back and forth. He ended up saying "three!" when he was ready for more.

Addi's swimming story was a little different. She had been asking about swimming for a couple of weeks now. Today was finally the day she would get to play in Gramp's and Granna's pool. However, just like last year she held a death grip on us when she got in the water. Maybe she'll loosen up a little during the summer. Actually, she did loosen up some tonight, but not in the way anyone wanted her too. She pooped in her bathing suit! She was embarrassed, but after she was cleaned up she wanted to get back in. After that incident, I knew I had something to blog about.

  1. Yes, my outstanding wife a nearly 8 years let me sleep in on Saturday. I plan on doing the same for her a lot this summer.

  2. I can't believe you actually slept that late.I thought you were always up at the crack of dawn. Anyway, it is nice to do that every once in a while but don't make a habit of it! I do agree with you on one thing...you do have an outstanding wife. She's the best!
