Last night Addi and I chased some lightning bugs. We caught one and Addi had fun playing with it. She said "It's so toot! (cute)" We let it go after awhile and she quickly said "Let's catch another one!"
Addi usually hates bugs. If a moth or fly gets in the house, she says with an aggitated voice "Oh no, a bug! Kill it!" It's going to be interesting to see how she handles camp in a couple of weeks.
Lightning bugs are a good sign that summer is almost here. Yesterday day was the last real day of school. I probably won't have very many students today and tomorrow. Thursday is a work day and Friday is the final day! It'll be great experience freedom for the summer.
One last note: VOTE FOR TAYLOR TONIGHT!
Edit - Taylor did great last night. Katherine was not her best. I used the free modem program Dial Idol to vote, but it only got me 11 votes. The land lines here were tied up here. Kim got 40 votes on her cell phone after 9 p.m. I got 11 more.

Lightning Bugs

Catching the lightning bugs was probably good bug therapy. The last time one got in the house and she was with me, I thought she was going to have a come apart. She was terrified. Of course, Levi would have picked the bugs up and played with them.

I have never been deathly afraid of bugs but I can't say that I am fond of them either. I remember being 6 or 7 years old and catching lightning bugs with my brother and putting them in a canning jar with holes poked in the top. I am sure Addi will have many great memories of catching lightning bugs with her daddy!
