Most of the stories I share with my students in my classroom are family stories. One book we read each year is called Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World. There is a great message about the value of family and its history.
Towards the end of the unit, we have a best biscuit baking contest. Last year, I had around 20 students enter. My judges (our school custodians) had a tough time choosing, but the best recipe was oh so good!
Afterwards, I shared my famous recipe: biscuits straight from the can!
