We found out today that our former assistant principal is returning to be our principal. Everyone was excited, including the students. The best thing about him is that he inspires everyone to do their best, even the teachers.
In other school news, we have a second new assistant principal coming. Her first day is tomorrow.
It's hard to belive that this is my 8th year to be a teacher. I've had some great years and some tough years, but I don't regret being a teacher. The best part is the "celebrity status" I have in our community. Pleasant Grove is a small hometown suburb full of the most friendliest people in the state of Alabama. When I go to one of the two grocery stores, I usually see a student who recognizes me and says hello. Yesterday, a little girl saw me and her eyes got real big. She said "You work at my school!" I wonder if she thinks teachers live in coffins at night?
I "designed" our school web site. You can see it here.
