Moving Memories

The other day, Kim and I helped Daniel and Mandi move. Addi enjoyed "helping" too. We gave her little things to carry. She loves being a big girl.

Anyway, a few memories popped back in my head from past moves. As some of you know, I am a proud military brat. Two of the moves were completely done by my family. Dad and I were the ones lifting and storing the boxes in the U-Haul truck. It was indeed an experience. Dad really knew what he was doing. All I had to do what bring out the boxes.

During the move from PA to CA, we had to actually lower some things out of the balcony of the house. One thing we had to move was the head board of my parents' bed. Dad lowered it down with a rope to my sister and me when it slipped. I was able to brace it and no damage was done. Mom didn't have a good point of view and I remember her saying that as she went down the stairs to check on us, she couldn't decide to call 911 then or after she checked on us. Everything was okay and now I have a great moving memory.

That move was a lot of fun. We drove across the country in about a week And the best part was that unloading was so much easier!
