Hurricane Katrina's Visit

The winds of Hurricane Katrina have been blowing all around us. I went out on our porch a few minutes ago and it was an eerie feelings hearing the trees rustle. I'd say we had some gusts over 40 mph. Anyway, we decided to ride this one out at home unlike Dennis and last year's Ivan. Our power is still on (obviously since I'm writing this entry), but in several communites around us it is out.

There are a few families up at the church building riding it out. We have two storm rooms there. They've been put to good use since the building was completed last summer!

Schools in our area were let out early. My school system closed out schools at 2:00 (30 minutes early). I hope that school resumes tomorrow.
